Since my last testimony was published five years ago, I have had further proofs of the practical nature of Christian Science.
On two occasions I was healed of difficulty in hearing. Once healing came when I pondered the definition of "oil," given on page 592 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Among the terms used to describe it are "consecration," "charity," and "prayer," and I endeavored to express these more fully in my dealings with others. On the second occasion the healing of Lazarus came to mind. Jesus' prayer to God, "I knew that thou hearest me always" (John 11:42) turned round in my thinking to become, "I know that I hear You always."
In each case I had to and did learn more of the spiritual nature of hearing. And I gained a deeper understanding of man's true identity as the reflection of the one all-hearing, all-knowing Mind.
