Beyond the words

Anyone who has talked at length with a Christian Scientist about his religion or has read the literature soon realizes that Christian Scientists often use words in a special way. To some this usage may seem strange.

It's not that Christian Scientists are deliberately trying to be obscure. On the contrary, most are eager to have this Science they cherish understood and embraced, and its benefits shared, by all mankind.

What makes the language of Christian Science so special is also what makes this Science difficult for many to accept: its spiritual basis.
