Insight into the Church Manual
Here we stand
What a privilege to know that we can walk through our mornings and our evenings in utter safety! To feel we are walking on solid fact under a canopy of love! Thought turns to that wonderfully assuring statement in the Bible: "The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms." Deut. 33:27.
When we look at the world today, we are faced with a shambles of minds many, opinions many, degrees of greed and politicking. Not only individuals but also the world at large sorely needs a concept of government that is lasting, invulnerable, unchanging—because spiritually based. Christian Science offers such a concept—a practical, workable form of government, which is laid out in the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy. Under its guidance we can surely walk in safety.
Mrs. Eddy says of the Manual: "Notwithstanding the sacrilegious moth of time, eternity awaits our Church Manual, which will maintain its rank as in the past, amid ministries aggressive and active, and will stand when those have passed to rest." The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 230.
