The next step
The next step—it's something we all have to consider now and then. We outgrow the old and must put on the new. Or perhaps circumstances demand a change.
But how do we know the most appropriate step to take? Sometimes the answer is clear-cut—or at least seems so. At other times, though, we may have envisioned a wide range of options and just don't know which one to choose.
Through Christian Science we can lift the whole issue out of the darkness of doubt and into the brightness of certainty and understanding. Doubt springs from a false sense of ourselves as mortals, separate from our creator, potential victims of an uncertain future. But this isn't the truth of our being, because God hasn't abandoned man. He hasn't cast him off to fend for himself in a haphazard physical universe. An inspired perception of Christ Jesus' teachings and works, and of the Scriptures as a whole, assures us of this. We come to see that God and man are inseparable; that the creator, immortal Love, is always governing His spiritual creation with precision through divine law. There are no flaws in Love's universe. There's no possibility of a misstep, no element of chance or confusion, because God is in control. Order, not confusion, is the product of His law.
