Early one morning, while I was reading the Bible Lesson as outlined...
Early one morning, while I was reading the Bible Lesson as outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly, the truth from it filled me with a great sense of God's love, and His tender care for all mankind. Mrs. Eddy states in Science and Health (p. 216): "The understanding that the Ego is Mind, and that there is but one Mind or intelligence, begins at once to destroy the errors of mortal sense and to supply the truth of immortal sense. This understanding makes the body harmonious; it makes the nerves, bones, brain, etc., servants, instead of masters. If man is governed by the law of divine Mind, his body is in submission to everlasting Life and Truth and Love."
That afternoon my husband and I took a boat ride. During the evening, it appeared I had gotten severely sunburned, and my legs were very painful. As I reached out to the truths I had read in the Bible Lesson, fear left me. The "at once" in the previously quoted statement impressed me. As I quietly and prayerfully considered its implications, I was filled with gratitude, knowing that there is no delay, no postponement in God's love, and therefore, in healing. No injury or disease, regardless of how severe it may seem to be, can ever stand before Truth. At that, the pain began to subside.
