Just feeling grateful that each of us is God's perfect image and likeness can spark the obedience and "listening ear" we need to work toward fulfilling our divine purpose.

The opportunity to demonstrate this truth became mine when a persistent, discordant business situation needed to be resolved. Human methods that had previously led to success fell short of accomplishing the goal this time. But what a blessing it can be when human means fail us, for we can turn to the true source of ability—God. Mrs. Eddy writes (Science and Health, p. 322), "The sharp experiences of belief in the supposititious life of matter, as well as our disappointments and ceaseless woes, turn us like tired children to the arms of divine Love."

With a new humility I began to examine my thinking regarding work, discarding false beliefs that were attempting to delude me. I began a thorough reading of Mrs. Eddy's writings and found in them great inspiration that lifted my thought out of discouragement and impatience. I knew these rays of light were building toward the inevitable final dawning of full healing. Along the way my father contributed an important idea: God only knows His perfect creation. He knows nothing of a company or dealings of business.
