The source of true power

Mankind generally believe that almost every aspect of life depends on some form of material power. Governments appear to be directed by political or military power. Business, industry, and one's personal standard of living seem to be controlled by economic forces. Advances in the physical sciences and academic disciplines apparently rely on intellectual power. We harness wind, water, solar, and atomic power to run our machines. Even the human body is assumed to be directed by brainpower and to move according to muscular power.

But what is classified as material power has inherent limitations. Because it is always material in source and form, this so-called power may falter just when needed most. It is subject to mistakes, misuse, or abuse. So, it is but a counterfeit of true potency: the infinite, unfailing power of God, divine Mind.

Spiritual power is actually the only real power, and we can rely on it safely and effectively to maintain us in every circumstance. It is constant, unlimited, and ever available. It cannot be depleted; there are no shortages of its supply; and when reflected in one's life, spiritual power consistently produces lasting, beneficial effects— enlivening, vitalizing, uplifting us.
