Christian Science does heal

Christian Science does heal. I've seen the "proof of the pudding" in my life. In my early days I was always sickly—one illness after another: typhoid fever, malaria, a tumor, appendicitis. I was miserable and disillusioned—full of fear, doubt, despair.

In the 1960's I was at my lowest ebb. I thought I was at death's door. I had a large lump in my abdomen and had been in extreme pain for days and days. (I would get these recurring attacks so that I could not eat or sleep.) But this time I knew a little about Christian Science, so I called on a Christian Science practitioner for help.

When I got to her home I was very sad and distraught. She was kind and consoled me. She said, "God is Love, and He loves you, and He never forsakes His children." I became calm, and then she read something to me. I don't recall the verse or statement—it might have been from the Bible or from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. I was new in Science at the time, and I was concerned mostly with my healing.
