Reflections on/of freedom
Ye shall know the truth, and
the truth shall make you free.
(John 8:32)
me? free?
yes, and yes.
from what?
free from shackling fears,
sorrow's tears,
and wasted years.
free from jealousy's chain,
false pleasure and pain,
sin's crimson stain .
must freedom just be "from"?
no!
As every good release has its follow-through,
so, with freedom from comes also freedom to.
to what?
free to follow where Love leads—
tending flocks;
sowing seeds.
free to comfort,
cleanse,
and heal
by knowing Truth as real .
free to be the me
God created me to be?
Yes!
