Inspired defiance

HUGH K. FRASER

Sharp pain turned thought
to God.
I sought
release from fear
by realization clear
of God’s All-power.

                                          Deep prayer for light
                                          brought promise bright;
                                          thought soared serene
                                          above the dream
                                          of matter’s lies
                                          and “reason whys.”

Then came the call
“Don't just deny...
defy!”
for God is All.
