Breaking out of the shell
Have you ever tried to shut yourself away from everything and everyone? To be enclosed in a shell, all shut up inside yourself, because you felt hurt or angry? Nearly everyone at some time or another has wanted to withdraw, or to go somewhere that would close out the whole world.
But would you really be alone? Even if you could find such a place, God would be there because He fills all space. He is everywhere His children are. So instead of our trying to withdraw from the world, a better solution might be to draw closer to God.
Christian Science shows how to break open escapist shells, whether they're made of self-pity, shyness, or scorn for others. It does this by revealing our true identity as man, God's spiritual idea, happy and complete.
