I was brought up in another religion. When I was sixteen my dad, who was just learning about Christian Science, asked me if I would like to go to church with him. I said, "Why not?" This happened to be a low time in my life, and all I can say is that Christian Science saved me. I had been doing badly in school, was frequently absent, and was rebellious at home. I also went out with the "wrong" kind of people—particularly a boyfriend. (He was very jealous and would beat me up for no reason.) As I learned more about Science, I knew these relationships were not right and something had to be done; I had lived with fear too long. So I called a Christian Science practitioner and explained the situation—that I was afraid to leave this boy because I thought he would beat me or might even kill me. The practitioner agreed to help and told me not to fear. When I told this young man that our relationship was over, all he did was cry. But the mesmerism was broken. We were both free. I felt so blessed, and I knew then that Christian Science could heal anything. Nothing is impossible to God, that's for sure!

I was also healed of intermittent drinking and of smoking marijuana occasionally. Constipation, food poisoning, a back difficulty, and menstrual pains were all healed through prayer in Christian Science. I have learned that we do not have to be sufferers of any kind, because we're not under any material so-called laws.

Recently I got married. This resulted after praying for some time to gain a spiritual sense of true companionship. Then, since we needed an apartment, I prayed to understand the true concept of home. Now we have a beautiful apartment that fits our needs. I have had many other healings, too numerous to mention. I am grateful for Mrs. Eddy's discovery of the Science of Christ. And I am certainly grateful for Sunday School, Christian Science class instruction, Christian Science Nurses Training, our chaplains in the armed services, our periodicals, and loving practitioners—and, of course, especially for Christ Jesus. Thank you, God!
