I have experienced a great many lovely healings in the course of my life through the study and practice of Christian Science. This written expression of gratitude is long overdue.

As a child, through my parents' guidance and through training I received in the Christian Science Sunday School, I learned to rely on God at all times—and especially in times of fear. Nightmares were a problem then, and in the midst of them I seemed unable to call out for my parents. With early instruction in the Sunday School, however, I learned to sing Mrs. Eddy's hymn "'Feed My Sheep'" to myself—right during the dreams (see Christian Science Hymnal, No. 304). This dispelled the fear and the frightening illusions dissipated.

Though a lifelong Christian Scientist, I didn't read Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy straight through until after my junior year in college. Among the resulting healings were an adjustment of what had been a very trying living situation and the development of a joyous social life for the first time. There followed a gradual transformation of my whole character—from narrowness and naivete to a growing interest in and concern for others. Several friends and family members commented on these positive changes.
