Another strike! I was at an airport in a strange location ready for departure, only to find that my flight had been canceled because of an industrial dispute. I was unable to assess fairly any justifiable rights or wrongs. All I knew was that my immediate plans had been disrupted.
No doubt many have found themselves in a similar situation and will understand that the challenge appeared to me to be very untimely indeed. Yet Christian Science teaches us to accept the truth that one fundamental, perfect, spiritual creation is unfolding eternally—as depicted in the first chapter of Genesis. In the realm of infinite good, divine Mind is all-acting and in control. As we accept this true basis of being, our experience evidences the divine, and harmony is restored as the natural sequence.
In my case, it was necessary to be patient and to realize that all things were working together as goodness itself. Instead of wondering how the situation would work out, I had to anchor my thought in something higher than human hope, lift it to recognition of the intelligent, cohesive activity of Mind, God. As Mrs. Eddy explains in Science and Health, "The cement of a higher humanity will unite all interests in the one divinity." Science and Health, p. 571.
