God is well pleased with man
And, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: and lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased (Matt. 3:16, 17).
Here is a simple but magnificent declaration of the Father's love for the Christ that Jesus revealed to be man's true nature. According to the Bible record, the Master was, at this point in his career, still preparing for the grand work of his appointed ministry— to heal, redeem, and feed the multitudes of hearts hungering for a deeper assurance of God's presence.
The Saviour had come to give perfect evidence of divine Love's infinite capacity to meet mankind's great needs. His advent is unparalleled; no one has ever entered the human scene in like manner nor with such special, holy promise. He was truly God's anointed.
