Turn to God for help
In any case of lack, whether of sight, hearing, health or supply, the basic need is clearer, more spiritual views of God and man. When we feel we are at an impasse, having exhausted every possible human means to get what we think we need, it is helpful to realize we can still do what we could have done in the first place— turn to God for help.
There are a number of instances in the Bible where inspired people did exactly this. Elisha's enlightened understanding of God enabled him to aid the widow who feared the loss of her sons to a creditor. Elisha helped her become conscious of the good that she did have, and through her response to his instructions a family tragedy was averted. See II Kings 4:1-7 .
The Master, Christ Jesus, fed a multitude in a desert place when there was apparently very little food. See Matt. 14:15-21 . His consciousness of God's ever-present caring must have admitted no barren location, no limited opportunities, no dearth of God's provision for His creation. Jesus must have been conscious of abiding in a land of great abundance, a land filled with all the blessings of God's great love for man.
