Singing a new song
I am one
with the beggar
lying at the gate
called Beautiful
The blind
sitting beside the roadside
beseeching
The woman
touching the hem of his
garment
Until,
no longer a beggar
seeking silver or gold
but receiving more blessings
than heart can hold
Until, lens of unreality
once blinding my sight
gives way to reality
changes darkness to light
Until,
I touch the hem of the
garment of Christ
making me whole from this hour
Now,
no longer a captive—
now, self-immolation
singing a new song
in sweet adoration—
Now,
now, I am at one, at one
with
God!
