God's harmonious day
What is your first thought on waking in the morning? Do you merely attempt to recollect the day of the week and anticipate with anxiety or pleasure its upcoming activities?
A verse from Psalms provides a happy beginning thought: "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Ps. 118:24.
There is nothing humdrum or monotonous about the Lord's day. Not confined to twenty-four hours, it is the continuing unfoldment, or revelation, of the harmony and order of the divine creation (without beginning or end), which God declared to be very good. In the infinitude of Spirit, temporal measurements are unknown. God is conscious not of time, only of eternity. "One day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." II Pet. 3:8. The demands of God's day are not burdensome or boring but call for active expression of your God-given capabilities. This will lighten tasks and harmonize contacts.
