Whom wilt thou send with me?

When faced with problems, do we ask: Who is going to be with me? Who is going to help me, keep me company, listen to my complaints? The answer "No one" may scare us—until we learn that God's assurance to Moses, overwhelmed at the prospect of leading the children of Israel to the Promised Land by himself, applies to us also.

To Moses' plaint "Thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me," the answer came, "My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest." Ex. 33:12, 14.

Today millions of people live alone, many by their own choice. How can they handle the need for companionship and the desire to lean on another human being or at least to know that someone else is around?
