The eternal continuity of good
One night as a fierce storm raged, I wondered, What are the stars doing tonight? Are they too being thrown around by the storm? Of course not! Though invisible through the clouds, the stars still were shining, untouched by the earth's turbulent elements.
Man is so like those stars. No matter how violent the eruptions of the carnal mind or how discordant the material conditions, man is far above the storms of matter. He is always serene and perfect. In reality, we are this man, the man God created.
Man's perfection is untouched because the goodness of God is continuous, eternally sustaining and empowering him. The fact of God's allness is provable and indisputable. Christian Science reveals God as totally good, without a single element of evil. The Bible gives us strong assurances of God's perfection. The Psalmist writes, "O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever." Ps. 106:1.
