"Is it fair?"

A small boy came home from school and sadly told his mother that he didn't know any of the answers in class that day. His mother, a Christian Scientist, reminded the child he had learned in Sunday School that God is divine Mind. She assured him that he could know anything he needed to know because he was Mind's intelligent idea, His perfect child. A few days later the boy came home all smiles. He said he had remembered what his mother had told him and knew the answers. Then his face clouded, and he asked, "But, Mom, is it fair?"

The mother discerned that the child was troubled by the thought that he might have an unfair advantage over his classmates. She reassured him that indeed it was fair. The same intelligence that gave him the answers was available to each of his classmates. They could do just what he did—know and acknowledge God as Mind, the source of all intelligence. She assured the lad that someday everyone would understand this and would then have answers to all his or her problems. This satisfied the boy.

Whether our problems are scholastic or theological, relate to business or family, we all have one God, one Mind. The divine source of all intelligence is ever available to supply the wisdom to solve any predicament. In God's kingdom there are no "haves" or "have-nots." God doesn't give intelligence to one and withhold from another. All are equal in His sight, for he created us, one and all, in His likeness.
