Heaven is where you live

Is heaven a place in the sky where God lives? That's what much of the world believes. But mankind needs to learn that heaven is not a geographical place. You could say it's a state of Mind—the state of divine Mind, God.

Mrs. Eddy gives us this definition in Science and Health: "Kingdom of Heaven. The reign of harmony in divine Science; the realm of unerring, eternal, and omnipotent Mind; the atmosphere of Spirit, where Soul is supreme." Science and Health, p. 590.

Christ Jesus told us, "The kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matt. 4:17. And St. John described heaven in symbolic terms in Revelation. He was so uplifted by the spirit of Christ that he could see heaven while on earth and perceive man inseparable from his Maker. See Rev. 21:1-4 . The understanding of this truth holds unlimited potential for good in our daily lives. It presents the kingdom of heaven on earth. To become aware of this indestructible present harmony requires a willingness to give up the belief of identity and life as material and to strive to follow the commands of our Master, Christ Jesus.
