The safety of man
Throughout the Bible, we read of individuals obtaining safety during adversity. Elisha completely surrounded by the hostile Syrian army, Daniel in the den of lions, the three Hebrews thrown into the furnace—all faced situations where death appeared imminent. See II Kings 6:8-17; Dan. 6:16-23; 3:19-27 . Yet the outcome in each case proved that man's safety is ensured by God.
Today, we may not face enemy chariots and horses or a den of lions, but we can still prove God's preserving presence and power. His power is always available in every circumstance to all who rely on Him.
God being Spirit, He made man spiritual. Man's purpose is to reflect the nature of God. He lives in the atmosphere of Spirit, where fear, danger, and harm are unknown. Man, in God's image, can only witness what God has provided for him. Because God is All-in-all, there is nothing in His universe or under His care that can provoke terror or feel fear. Man's life in God, Spirit, assures him of provision, preservation, and peace.
