To control the Medfly

Efforts to control the Mediterranean fruit fly (nicknamed the Medfly) in the United States highlight the importance of finding methods for dealing with destructive insects and other pests.

Chemical agents may offer temporary relief. But the repetitive nature of such outbreaks should encourage us to search for a deeper and permanent solution. Prayer based on a scientific understanding of creation can bring about such healing.

For instance, when Pharaoh, in his hardheartedness and unbelief in the one God, refused to let the oppressed Hebrews go free, he and his land experienced plagues in several forms, including destructive swarms of insects. Significantly, however, the Hebrews, under Moses' spiritual leadership, were protected from loss.
