Healing by reversal

Faced with a stubborn problem, we find it helpful to ask ourselves if we are attempting to make health true where we have believed it to be absent. Our remedy is right at hand. We don't have to do anything to reality.

Our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, healed from the standpoint of spiritual certainty. He knew God, the one divine Mind, as Truth. What is true is safely held within the all-knowing Mind. What God knows, therefore, constitutes the truth in any situation. With deep compassion for the human scene, Jesus could declare, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32.

Christian Science, the divine Science Jesus taught and lived, is bringing us the wonderful revelation that man reflects God. Man therefore reflects Truth. Man cannot originate Truth; it is not man's responsibility to make Truth true. Truth—with its goodness, wholeness, health—is already established, already the substance of all real identity. God, or Mind, has declared the truth of our being. Truth is currently in operation. We do not have to start it up again or get it to work faster. Truth is forever here, and its law is functioning spontaneously on behalf of our genuine selfhood.
