Polio healed: "I saw my son standing. He had walked across the room."

Christian Science came on its healing mission into our home many years ago when our boy was eight years old. He was in pain and could not walk. The doctor whom we called diagnosed the illness as polio and wanted to take the boy to the hospital immediately.

Before we were married my husband had sometimes attended a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and he had heard testimonies of healing by people in the congregation at the Wednesday evening testimony meetings. He told the doctor that he would have Christian Science treatment for the boy, to which the doctor replied, "Miracles have been performed, and I understand your decision, but call me in case you change your mind."

Before leaving for work, my husband contacted a Christian Science practitioner who lived near us. He explained the boy's condition, and the practitioner agreed to come to the house.
