Progressive steps in business spring from spiritual growth

In a troubling time, years ago, I borrowed a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy from the Christian Science Reading Room in the small town where I was living. I had just lost my job and accepted a temporary one many miles away, and soon I would be taking on the responsibility of marriage.
I began to reacquaint myself with the religion that I had known at home during boyhood. In intervening years I had got away from its teachings, and my life style and social behavior no longer conformed to the moral standards I had been taught were right.
As I began my new job, each morning I would ponder the ninety-first Psalm and also "the scientific statement of being" by Mrs. Eddy—especially this sentence (Science and Health, p. 468): "All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all." I was fortified by these inspiring messages that assured me of God's constant protection, power, and presence.
