One of my earliest healings in Christian Science was of facial blemishes. At the time, I was a student in my early twenties, and I also held a secretarial position. I had tried various remedies that brought me no help; in fact, the condition seemed to worsen. Then my mother renewed her interest in Christian Science, and we began attending services in a branch church together. We also took up study of the Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly.

At Mother's recommendation, I asked for help from a Christian Science practitioner. As I tearfully told the practitioner about my humiliating problem, she turned my attention to God and my true nature as His perfect, flawless child. She also said with firm conviction that as I spiritualized my thought, the blemishes would disappear as light dispels darkness. I found that there were many impure or mistaken concepts in my consciousness that needed to be patiently eliminated through spiritual reasoning. The healing took place gradually, over a period of time, and I rejoiced when freedom came; it left my skin clear and smooth.

For over thirty years my life has been enriched by the study and application of this precious Science. Our family has benefited by many healings, including those of so-called children's diseases, sprained ankles, influenza, colds and sore throat, and arthritis. Financial difficulties have been resolved as well.
