Morning transportation
Beware this early workday rush, I tell myself
still racing my minute-to-minute schedule
(the Lesson-Sermon in 30-flat)—
riding the crowded roadways
fighting chaotic delays—
impatience pressing all around.
Is this the pace required of me/my fellowman?
(I finally ask myself).
Brake!
Red light Time right now to trounce the tension-trip!
Learn Elijah's way ... the "still small voice"
in silent sound enfolds my day/our way.
Love's constant radiance all around
exists for man compassed by heavenly calm,
and earth's angry road of mortal fumes
dissolves in face of prayer-filled psalm.
Green light Smoothed and settled, I can move
Love-highwayed through my
peaceful
God-ordered
day.
