Divine reflection outshines mortal shadows

We would be more than a little startled if, while we were brushing our teeth in front of a mirror, our reflection was trying on hats or combing its hair. Of course, the image in the mirror has no volition, activity, or mind of its own.

The mirrored reflection hints at a great and redeeming truth, for the ultimate vista of reality that Christian Science bestows reveals man as the full reflection of divine Mind, God. Man is God's infinite contemplation—reflection—of His own infinite, faultless, immortal selfhood. Man can be nothing less; he can be nothing more; he can be nothing else.
