Christ overcomes the delay and decay of time

Time as a tyrant, telling us what we can and cannot do, is to be overthrown. Our stand not to submit to this or any other form of tyranny, if held to every day, saves us from the fury of a life-and-death struggle. But, either way, the escape from time into eternity is inevitable through spiritualization of thought.

According to Christian Science, one does not die out of time-related ways of thinking but grows spiritually out of them. In almost any time-pressed situation, one can choose to grow out of its torment. What is needed is less, not more, time—in other words, more of an understanding of timeless being.

Consider the metaphysical interpretation of "time" given in the Glossary of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. (This section is included in the textbook to help bring out the spiritual message, the inspired Word, of the Bible.)
