Mary, Martha, and first things
The sisters, Mary and Martha (and their brother Lazarus), were close friends of Jesus. Their conversations with him are described in the Gospels of Luke and John. One time, while visiting with this family in their home, Jesus brought out an important practical lesson.
The lesson is this: Put first things first.
What does this really mean? Christ Jesus himself gives us the answer in the Sermon on the Mount: "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matt. 6:33;
