The healing method for all time

What about the future of healing and preventing disease? A serious question is being asked by many people, namely: With all the years of medical research and application, is there any less disease today than in the past? Whenever a solution for one problem seems within reach, another more serious difficulty looms. Addiction to drugs and the side effects of drugs present strong questions. It's as if this movement of medical thought is lateral; there's no actual forward motion. Some drastic change in approach is clearly necessary.

No amount of research into matter will bring us a certain and consistent healing method, but spiritual research and the application of proper theology define the way of healing for both the present and the future. Jesus' teaching and healing unfold the Christ as the ultimate answer for disease. Mrs. Eddy defines "Christ" as "the divine manifestation of God, which comes to the flesh to destroy incarnate error."^{Science and Health, p. 583;} To understand the real nature of God as infinite Spirit, and of man as spiritual, expressive of God—this alone gives us the capacity to practice the divine laws of healing exercised by Jesus.

In several concise statements, Christ Jesus designated the timeless nature of true healing. He said, "the Comforter, ... whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things."^{John 14:26;} "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."^10:10; "Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world."^{Matt. 28:20;} These statements display the healing Christ as the genuine solution for mortal ills.
