Mary Baker Eddy makes this powerful statement in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures (pp. 180-181): "To reduce inflammation, dissolve a tumor, or cure organic disease, I have found divine Truth more potent than all lower remedies. And why not, since Mind, God, is the source and condition of all existence?" I, too, have seen the potency of Truth heal disease in my own life.

A condition of Saint Vitus' dance was healed along with attendant organic and functional difficulties, which included rheumatism of the heart. Serious head and knee injuries were rectified by prayer; and, when a heavy object was dropped on my foot, it was proved that matter cannot outline man's condition as the spiritual likeness of God. In this instance the pain was met at once through Christian Science treatment. The foot was normal in shape by morning, and at no time was there any discoloration.

Internal tumors, abscesses, and an ovarian cyst were each destroyed by this Christ, Truth. Through humble, earnest trust in our Father-Mother God, I have been guided and protected during forest fires, while traveling by car in all weather and road conditions, and in many trying situations concerning human relationships.
