Christian Science has brought healing to our family through five generations. My grandfather turned to Science when medical treatment could not cure him, and he was healed with the help of a Christian Science practitioner. Later he became a practitioner himself and helped others receive healing. As a child, my mother was under a medical verdict that she would not live to maturity. Her freedom came after the family gained a higher understanding of God, and man's spiritual relationship to Him.

As a youngster, Mother also had severe colds every winter that made her lose her voice and rendered her unable to recite in school for long periods. This, too, was healed so completely that I cannot remember Mother ever having a cold.

I am told that at my birth all action stopped partway through the birth process. The doctor in attendance wanted to use instruments to take the child. He was asked to wait while a practitioner prayed for me. Activity resumed, and the birth was normal.
