A lesson in not giving up
It was early Monday afternoon, time for Mr. Hardy to pick up Sarah for her regular baby-sitting job. Sarah was at that time baby-sitting three or four days a week for the Hardys.
Mr. Hardy arrived a little later than usual with a long, drawn look on his face. He explained that he had been looking for Greyling, the Hardy's fluffy gray cat, who had been missing since Thursday evening. The Hardys were quite concerned that Greyling might not be able to find his way home. They had recently moved into a new apartment development in which all the buildings looked the same, and the development itself was surrounded by endless cornfields.
During the ride to the Hardy home, Sarah tried to reassure Mr. Hardy. She said she was certain Greyling was fine and would be back in no time. She could hardly wait until she'd be at the apartment and have some quiet moments to think about the situation.
