City services function normally because Mind rules
Breakdowns
Ever since I can remember, the subway system in my city has been the target of criticism. When I rode it during my high school years, the dilapidated cars were always breaking down. Unfortunately, things aren't much different today. It's now the spanking new cars that break down!
The typical response has always been a that's-just-the-way-it-is-what-can-you-do-about-it attitude. And this is exactly the frame of mind I took on as I began to use the subway system regularly again after many years.
Soon, however, I found that there is a better way to respond.
