Don't ignore the rules!
Human nature often resists rules. But obedience to rules is needed for almost all successful accomplishment. The effective practice of scientific Christianity requires us to learn what its rules are and then strive to follow them.
In the demonstration of the divine law of God, good, Christian Science teaches us to remain alert to the belief of evil, or animal magnetism. This alertness is important to the metaphysician. A fundamental rule concerning evil, we discover, is that evil must be deprived of its erroneous claim to power. Mrs. Eddy asks in Science and Health: "Who, that has felt the perilous beliefs in life, substance, and intelligence separated from God, can say that there is no error of belief? Knowing the claim of animal magnetism, that all evil combines in the belief of life, substance, and intelligence in matter, electricity, animal nature, and organic life, who will deny that these are the errors which Truth must and will annihilate?" Science and Health, pp. 450-451;
The revelation of Christian Science is twofold: it presents the Comforter, bringing to the world the knowledge of the total goodness of God, and—as a logical consequence—exposing the nothingness of evil.
