Your article, "Can faith alone beat disease?" (Jan. 31) touches on a subject of considerable interest. However, the Christian Scientist's approach to healing isn't quite the way it's described. Much more is involved than the article suggests.
Christian Scientists find untold power in the New Testament teachings regarding Christian healing, and compelling evidence of this power exists in their lives. They rejoice with those of other denominations whose similar experiences are proving that healing grounded in a deeper understanding of Jesus' teaching and example is effective and reliable.
