Airport
An airport, this gathering place of people on the move—business men and women, vacationers, grandparents visiting distant families—is a vivid symbol of this late-twentieth-century world. It can remind us of some important spiritual truths.
At least, that was my feeling as I waited in an airline's departure lounge.
A wait at an airport is an occasion for metaphysical resolving, seeing the spiritual truth of things that come to our attention. This, of course, applies to many situations in our everyday lives. However, an airport, or a bus station, or a crowded highway can remind us of special, specific truths.
