Love—the key to reform

For centuries, reformers have struggled with the question of how to obtain a fairer distribution of the world's wealth. The historical record shows that attempts to solve the problem through materially based reasoning have not provided lasting answers. Why? Because material reasoning assumes the existence of many minds with varying degrees of intelligence; it assumes mortals split up into ethnic groups or different social strata. It takes for granted fluctuating material resources that are abundant for some but scarce for others. All these misconceptions are inherent in the basic error that there is a mortal, material universe separated from God and His divine control.

Solutions can be found only as people drop limited concepts, self-interest, and partisanship and reach out unselfishly for the fundamental truths of God's impartial love for all and His never-ending supply of infinite resources.

Divine Principle, God, governs and maintains the spiritual—the only—universe in perfect harmony, stability, and order. In God's creation, such humanly devised concepts as favored and unfavored, privileged and underprivileged, fulfilled and unfulfilled, are forever ruled out, for they are lies, illusions, having nothing to do with the truth of God and man.
