Every whit whole

Most people are grateful if they are physically fit enough to perform their daily duties reasonably well and maybe to take in an occasional round of golf, a ski trip, or a leisurely country walk. They may never even consider the possibility of being "every whit whole"—Bible language for being healthy even in the most insignificant parts and functions of their bodies and lives. Yet that is how Christ Jesus described one whom he had healed.

The Master once commented, "Are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?" John 7:23; Through divine power he had instantly cured a man who had been unable to walk for thirty-eight years. And later he told the man, "Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee." 5:14;

Christian healers do not concern themselves only with the legs or the brain or any other single portion of the physical body that seems to be defective. Jesus asked the man, "Wilt thou be made whole?" His followers seek to heal the individual both mentally and physically. Their treatment involves seeing man's real, spiritual identity as one whole, intact expression of God and aims to demonstrate this perfect wholeness.
