Pursue healing patiently

If healing doesn't come right away, we may think nothing is happening. We may fear that our earnest praying and studying have been in vain. Nothing could be further from the fact.

Christian Science shows that every effort to correct material belief with spiritual understanding is supported by God, Mind, the source of all truth, and therefore is effective. A single ray of spiritual light brings the omnipotence of God, Truth, and begins to transform one's outlook. As we remain faithfully receptive to spiritual light, the power of Mind releases us from fear and sin.

Christ Jesus gave us a perceptive illustration of patience in his parable of the tares and the wheat.^{See Matt. 13:24–30;} While the servants were overly anxious about the presence of tares and asked if they should pull them up, the master was patient. He told them, "Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them." He knew that the wheat was growing and that a time of harvest was approaching. Then the tares would be disposed of naturally, and the wheat would remain.
