My membership in The Mother Church the past fifty-five years has been greatly enriched by lessons learned from study of the Bible together with the writings of Mrs. Eddy. Divine Science is the Comforter that Christ Jesus said the Father would send in his name (see John 14:26).

As a child I attended the Christian Science Sunday School, and in all the years since I have used no other methods for healing. I have seen proof of the healing power of this statement (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany by Mrs. Eddy, p. 171): "... Trust in Truth, and have no other trusts." Christ Jesus said (John 8:32), "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." I have demonstrated this freedom in instantaneous healings as well as healings that took longer to realize. In the latter case, much consecrated prayer and study and constant spiritual alertness helped bring a better understanding of the truth that frees us.

One such healing stands out. About four years ago I discovered a large lump on one of my thighs. Soon there was pain, and the one leg became stiff and difficult to move about. I called a friend, who is a Christian Science practitioner, to help me through prayer, and we worked together.
