Don't wait for joy!
There are some who seem to have everything the world can offer, yet are restless and unhappy. And some who have experienced tragic loss or injustice, yet appear radiant, compassionate, and responsive to others.
The invariable source of joy is God. Joy is never dependent on material circumstance. It is always actively flowing from God and is recognizable by spiritual sense. As the sun ceaselessly pours out light and warmth, so God is ceaselessly pouring out joy. And because man is God's beloved child, we can become increasingly aware of this ever-present, ever-active joy through the Christ, Truth, which awakens us from material sense.
We can learn through Christian Science to have childlike trust in God's goodness and expectant obedience to His direction. We can become aware of the presence of joy right where unhappy suggestions would pull us away from our God-given happiness.
