Love heals "in-law-ism"
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we included in our preparation for marriage deep, sincere prayer to live love with every new family member?
Christian Science teaches that the real selfhood of each individual is made in the image of God. Erroneous traits are no part of real selfhood. They can only be the results of ignorant, materialistic concepts, which have no permanent basis. God, divine Love, is the sole cause and creator, and each one of His children reflects Him in spiritual qualities, including love, integrity, intelligence. As we realize these truths and endeavor to live them, we help to free ourselves and others from wrong traits of character and disposition.
By letting our affections flow generously to all, including our in-laws—whether or not they are members of our household— we enrich our homes greatly. Mrs. Eddy writes, "Home is the dearest spot on earth, and it should be the centre, though not the boundary, of the affections." Science and Health, p. 58;
