Knowing Mind as our Mind

There is one thing we can be sure of as we pray our way through a difficult situation with the help of Christian Science: The minute we accept the fact that God is Mind—the only Mind we express—the basic truth of the situation is seen; usually we begin to experience more harmony immediately.

Wherever we are and whatever we are doing, we can begin accepting the supremacy of Mind, because Mind is omnipresent and omnipotent. Changing our thoughts from being matter-or-brain-based to reflecting the inviolate, harmonious truth of perfect Mind and its perfect creation, man, we see our consciousness as eternally at one with this Mind, never touched by matter or nonintelligence. We can see the harmony of Mind everywhere, healing anything and everything that would claim to be opposed to God, or good.

Divine Mind's allness and goodness produce harmony, never discord. Mind's powerful somethingness excludes a mortal mind, or the belief in a mind apart from God. Negative thinking, or evil, hasn't one bit of power to reverse harmony. Let's not give it any. The belief of many minds contradicting each other is a lie that would cloud or reverse harmony, usefulness, and satisfaction with what is right and true. No reversal or subversion of the truth can ever cancel or deny Truth's, or Mind's, effective production of harmony. Mrs. Eddy writes, "Mental malpractice is a bland denial of Truth, and is the antipode of Christian Science."Miscellaneous Writings, p. 31;
