Joy

Happiness can be made into a list.

Happiness can be written on a T-shirt.

Happiness is a hundred genial things:
catching the eye of a friend,
a turn of phrase,
color, flowers, music,
beauty of curve and line ...
one could go on forever
making a happy count of happiness.

But this ...
this sudden awareness
that nothing abides but God,
that man in His image possesses
all wisdom and beauty,
glory and power,
health and virtue;
this certain knowing,
this radiant feeling
of oneness with things divine ...

... this, this is pure joy.
