I am very grateful for a Christian Science healing that I had. Early this year I was riding my motorcycle, and while I was making a turn at an intersection I was struck by a car. I was taken to a nearby hospital. My mother arrived, and I asked her to telephone a Christian Science practitioner. Throughout this time I was declaring to myself as much of the truth, or divine facts, as I could.

My leg hurt a great deal where the car hit me, and X rays were taken. I was determined that I would hold to the truth that my spiritual identity as God's child was not hurt, regardless of what the material state claimed to be. No bones were found to be broken, and I was able to go home that same night.

I was unable to walk, and when I got home I talked with the practitioner. One of the things that the practitioner told me was that I had to declare the nothingness of the accident. Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 424), "Accidents are unknown to God, or immortal Mind, and we must leave the mortal basis of belief and unite with the one Mind, in order to change the notion of chance to the proper sense of God's unerring direction and thus bring out harmony."
