"Your joy no man taketh from you"
Recognizing that man has eternal refuge in Soul, Jesus said, "Your joy no man taketh from you." John 16:22;
Joy is as natural to the real man, to the man created in the likeness of God, as perfume is to flowers. Joy harmonizes and beautifies life, giving it warmth and radiance. Joy is a quality of Soul, which spiritual man possesses as Soul's reflection. It isn't something that is acquired from outside of ourselves; it doesn't depend on any person, circumstance, place, or thing; it is something that develops from within the heart.
Christian Science teaches us that the real man is not subject to sudden changes from joy to depression, nor is he the sport of random circumstance, because he is always in his right place—in the eternal Mind—always reflecting his beloved Father-Mother God. This new understanding transforms human experience, and with it comes an expression of joy that constantly remains.
